Microlensing predictions: impact of Galactic disc dynamical models

چکیده

Galactic model plays an important role in the microlensing field, not only for analyses of individual events but also statistics ensemble events. However, models used field varies, and some are unrealistically simplified. Here we tested three disc dynamic models, first is a simple standard that was widely this whereas other two consider radial dependence velocity dispersion, last model, asymmetric drift. We found typical lens mass $M_{\rm L}=0.5M_{\odot}$, new dynamical predict $\sim16\%$ or $\sim5\%$ less long-timescale (e.g., timescale $t_{\rm E}>300$ days) $\sim 5\%$ 3.5\%$ more short-timescale ($t_{\rm E}<3$ than model. Moreover, event rate as function Einstein radius $\theta_{\rm E}$ parallax $\pi_{\rm shows (a few percent). The have impact on total rate. This result will to degree affect Bayesian analysis events, overall, small. still recommend modelers should be careful when choosing especially statistical works involving large number Additionally, find asymptotic power-law behaviors both distributions, provide understand them.

Microlensing and Galactic Structure

Because we know little about the Galactic force-field away from the plane, the Galactic mass distribution is very ill-determined. I show that a microlensing survey of galaxies closer than 50Mpc would enable us to map in three dimensions the Galactic density of stellar mass, which should be strictly less than the total mass density. A lower limit can be placed on the stellar mass needed at R < R...

Microlensing in Galactic Halos

— In the framework of the search of dark matter in galactic halos in form of massive compact halo object (MACHOs), we discuss the status of microlensing observations towards the Magellanic Clouds and the Andromeda galaxy, M31. The detection of a few microlensing events has been reported, but an unambiguous conclusion on the halo content in form on MACHOs has not been reached yet. A more detaile...

Galactic microlensing with rotating binaries

The influence of rotating binary systems on the light curves of galactic microlensing events is studied. Three different rotating binary systems are discussed: a rotating binary lens, a rotating binary source, and the earth’s motion around the sun (parallax effect). The most dramatic effects arise from the motion of a binary lens because of the changes of the caustic structure with time. I disc...

The Galactic Halo from Microlensing

The status of the microlensing search for galactic dark matter in the form of massive astronomical compact halo objects (machos) is reviewed. Unresolved issues are discussed, as well as possible ways to solve these.

Gravitational microlensing and the galactic halo.

By means of extensive galactic modeling we study the implications of the more than eighty microlensing events that have now been observed for the composition of the dark halo of the Galaxy, as well as for other properties of the Galaxy. We take the Galaxy to be comprised of luminous and dark disk components, a bulge, and a dark halo consisting of both MACHOs and cold dark matter with each compo...
